Intermedia – MFA—Master in Fine Arts

The Intermedia Studio is a space that aims to promote experimentation and reflection in the expanded context of contemporary artistic practices, and its main goal is the development of a theoretical-practical projects for students in this articulation.

An important and fundamental part of a course in artistic practices, studio work is assumed in its most intrinsic form as the place for thinking, elaborating and implementing individual work projects. They will be developed in open studio spaces, thus promoting the capacity for a rigorous, critical and contextualized reflection of the concerns inherent to research projects, capable of properly mobilizing the most significant debates that shape the field of current art practice.

The uniqueness and individuality of each project will be encouraged through individual monitoring of the tutorial observation as well as the encounter with reality that presupposes the presence of students in exhibitions outside the faculty in public exhibition places, such as museums and other independent spaces.

Pedro Tudela

Associate Professor at the Plastic Arts Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto University and Researcher at i2ADS. PhD in Art and Design from FBAUP; Degree in Fine Arts – Painting from ESBAP. Co-founder, with Miguel Carvalhais, of the multidisciplinary and digital music project @c. Founding member of the label Crónica Electrónica. He has worked in scenography since 2002. He has exhibited regularly individually since 1981. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad since the beginning of the 1980s. He is represented in museums, public and private collections.
